The Caudal Flick: Borrowing Propulsion Physics from the Apex Predators of the Deep
Traditional fins are static. Nature is dynamic. RockerWave is introducing Variable-Flex Fins that utilize Bio-Mimetic Caudal Geometry to generate thrust from your board’s side-to-side oscillation.
1. Converting Yaw into Thrust
Every paddle stroke creates a tiny bit of "Yaw" (side-to-side movement). Our variable-flex fins are engineered with a Graduated Modulus—stiff at the base, flexible at the tip. Like a tuna’s tail, the tip flicks at the end of each oscillation, converting wasted lateral energy into forward momentum.
2. Adaptive Foil Profiles
As water speed increases, the fin’s foil shape subtly deforms to maintain the optimal Lift-to-Drag Ratio. It’s a self-tuning system that ensures you have maximum "Grip" during buoy turns and minimum "Drag" during the flats.
