Extreme Durability: Engineering for High Salinity and Thermal Expansion
A surfboard in the open ocean is subjected to a brutal chemical and thermal environment. For the Legacy Series, we have developed a hull that is impervious to the two greatest enemies of composite materials: salt-crystallization and UV-driven thermal expansion.
Resisting the "Salt-Wedge" Effect
Saltwater is corrosive at a molecular level. Cheap resins develop micro-fissures where salt crystals expand and delaminate the fiberglass. RockerWave uses an aerospace-grade epoxy resin with zero-porosity. This ensures that even after years of high-salinity exposure, the structural integrity of your board remains as pristine as the day it was shaped.
Thermal Stability in Tropical Heat
Direct sunlight can heat a dark board to over 150°F, causing internal air to expand and delaminate the core. Our Legacy boards feature a proprietary heat-shield finish and a micro-ventilation system that allows the EPS core to "breathe" without letting moisture in. This thermal management ensures your board’s rocker profile never warps, regardless of the latitude.
