The Expedition Load: Solving Weight-Distribution Physics for Ultra-Long Distance

The Expedition Load: Solving Weight-Distribution Physics for Ultra-Long Distance

For the elite expedition paddler, carrying 40lbs of gear shouldn't mean sacrificing the board's plane. The RockerWave Nomad™ features the new Rail-Lock™ Lashing System, a recessed carbon track integrated directly into the board’s skeletal structure.

1. Maintaining the Center of Lateral Resistance (CLR)

Most gear-straps sit high on the deck, raising the center of gravity and making the board "tippy." Our Rail-Lock system allows gear to be mounted lower and more centrally, keeping the CLR stable even under heavy loads. This ensures the board remains responsive in chop, even when fully loaded for a week-long crossing.

2. Integrated Power-Bus

The Rail-Lock track also acts as a power-bus, allowing you to click-in waterproof batteries or satellite comms that draw power directly from the board’s integrated solar deck, eliminating cable clutter.
