Lighter Than Air: Replacing Traditional Foam with 3D-Printed Lattice Cores
Traditional EPS foam is 90% air, but it’s still too heavy for 2026 standards. The RockerWave Ultralight™ series replaces the foam core with a 3D-printed Iso-Grid Lattice made from recycled carbon-thermoplastics.
1. Targeted Stiffness
Unlike foam, which has uniform density, our 3D lattice can be printed with variable stiffness. We make the board ultra-rigid under the standing area and more flexible in the nose to absorb chop. This "Programmed Flex" gives the rider unparalleled control over the board's behavior in the water.
2. 25% Weight Reduction
By removing the dead weight of solid foam, we’ve reduced total board weight by 25%. This translates directly into faster acceleration and less fatigue during high-intensity buoy turns.
